Empowered Youth
Serving students in grades 4–8 within the Brandywine School District, the Empowered Youth Program gives young people a safe, supportive space to learn, grow, and have fun, after school and during the summer. The program helps students build academic confidence, social skills, and emotional wellness through mentorship, physical activity, and hands-on learning.

What We Do
Sports & Fitness
Through basketball, flag football, and other games and activities, youth learn teamwork, focus, and discipline while staying active.
STEAM Creativity
Students engage in fun, hands-on projects that inspire curiosity and creativity in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
- Designing personalized exfoliation scrubs
- Using music-production equipment
- Creating and decorating themed art projects, like holiday door displays
Health & Awareness
With our partner, Cultural Restoration Project, youth participate in anti-smoking and anti-vaping initiatives, writing raps, producing PSAs, and performing skits that encourage their peers to live healthy, smoke-free lives.
This initiative is funded by the American Lung Association.
Why It Matters
Empowered Youth focuses on helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally—not just in the classroom, but in life. Through teamwork, creativity, and positive mentorship, participants build the confidence to lead, make healthy choices, and believe in their potential.
- “You can’t be afraid to fail—it’s the only way you succeed.” – LeBron James
- “A dream is not a thing that happens when you sleep; it only happens when you’re awake.” – Cristiano Ronaldo
Youth Voices
“At the community center we play flag football and talk about life skills—like making good choices as we grow up. We stretch, run laps, play hard, and learn a lot.” – CCC Youth Participant
